    What ICLEW Browser Plugin Collects

    The Plugin is installed and runs in an absolutely anonymous manner. It does not collect any personally identifiable information, including but not limited to

  • Your user account at iClew.org.
  • The IP address of your machine.

    When the Plugin is enabled, it analyzes the public web pages that you visit via http protocol and sends the abstract of the page to ICEW server. The server immediately indexes the abstract and erase it permanently. Only the index data are kept on the server and these data are NOT human readable.

    The Plugin does NOT analyzes the following web pages:

  • Web pages that you view via https protocol;
  • Web pages that you view after being authenticated, by providing user name/password pair or other method.

    The Plugin does NOT collect the URLs of your visits.

    Finally, when you think it necessary, you can easily disable the Plugin. When the Plugin is disabled, it does NOT collect or send any data to the server.

    How ICLEW Uses the Information

    Generally the only purpose of ICLEW requires or uses the information is to provide or improve the services.

  • ILCEW uses data collected by the Plugin for Instant Q&A service.
  • ICLEW may send newsletter emails to you if you register for the newsletter.
  • We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail regarding the topic on which you express interest when interacting with us.
