Dave Pelzer - A Child Called It Review by luvmygirls
I have been told for years to read this book and finally have. I was appalled that ANY person' let alone a MOTHER' could be capable of treating a child in this manner. I was in tears and felt for the boy. The fact that this is a true story made me angry and sad. I look at my girls and couldn't imagine letting anyone get away with such atrocities. This is a great book for anyone to read. It really makes you see things in a different light. Things were so different 20-30 years ago.
Dave Pelzer - A Child Called It Review by goddess
I read this book my senior year of high school and was completely amazed even at that point that anyone could treat their own child in such a way. Now' as a mother' I'm appalled. It's not really my sort of book at all' I'm more of a fiction type of person' it was given to me by a friend. I would recommend it to people who are into fiction and that sort of thing' but I am the type of person who prefers to read or watch things that aren't real' for me books and movies are more of an escape from reality' this book is a hardcore plunge headfirst into it instead.

This is one of those books that grips you from the very very beginning' and you are not able to put it down until you are done. Best piece of advice is to have some kleenex by you when you read it.And once done with it you will want to read the next 2 books that further tell you David Pelzer's journey in life.I think that it also puts a perspective on abused children and what some kids have and do go through. If you have not read it and do enjoy non fiction books this will be a read you don't want to miss.
Dave Pelzer - A Child Called It Review by twisted
This book will horrify and shock you and you won't be able to put it down. You will cry for little David Pelzer' the child who is called it. This book is wonderful and I whole heartedly believe it. I have read reviews of people who did not think the book was true or that it was from a child's perspective and maybe felt like he was starved for three weeks but really wasn't. Well things like this DO happen and people need to wake up and be more aware and learn the warning signs. This book is for everyone.
