This is probably the best album to be released in 2008. Okkervil River had a tough act to follow' after their previous two stellar albums' The Stage Names and Black Sheep Boy. It's like singer/guitarist Will Sheff wanted to be an author and picked up an acoustic guitar instead of a pen. He weaves complex narratives about the superficiality of the music business' much as he attacked television and movies in albums past. Lost Coastlines is a powerful single' a beautiful duet about dropping ones' life in pursuit of riches on the sea.
